Job Description
- Legal Compliance & Advisory
- Provide legal advice and support to various departments to ensure compliance with Cambodian laws and company policies.
- Draft, review, and revise business contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to minimize legal risks.
- Risk Control and Dispute Resolution
- Identify and assess potential legal risks in company operations and develop preventive measures.
- Manage and coordinate with external legal counsel for litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution matters.
- Handle legal proceedings and maintain proper documentation of legal cases.
- Corporate Governance & Company Affairs
- Assist in managing company secretary-related affairs, ensuring compliance with corporate governance requirements.
- Maintain relationships with relevant government authorities, such as the Ministry of Labor and other regulatory bodies.
- Training & Legal Awareness
- Provide regular legal training and updates for management and employees to strengthen compliance awareness.
- Communicate and educate staff on new laws, regulations, and company policies.
Job Requirements
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Law from a recognized Cambodian university.
- Holding a practicing lawyer license is highly preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a legal counsel or in a similar role within a corporate environment.
- Proven experience in dealing with Cambodian government agencies, particularly the Ministry of Labor.
- Professional Knowledge:
- In-depth understanding of Cambodian Labor Law and its practical applications.
- Familiarity with commercial contract law, investment law, and other relevant Cambodian regulations.
- Language Skills:
- Fluency in Khmer and English (both written and spoken) is mandatory.
- Proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin) will be considered a significant advantage and is eligible for a salary premium.
- Personal Competencies:
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
